The new State Housing Plan 2026-2030, effective from April 24, 2026, provides aid of up to 300 euros per month for rent for young people aged 18 to 35.

The Government has updated the Young Rent Bonus with the new State Housing Plan 2026-2030, which came into effect on April 24. The main novelty is the possibility of granting aid of up to 300 euros per month for rent payments, with the flexibility for autonomous communities to adjust this amount according to their regional needs.
The Ministry of Housing and Urban Agenda asserts that this plan aims to facilitate access to decent housing through direct aid and an increase in social housing. A budget of 200 million euros annually has been allocated for the next two years to support this measure.
While the aid is beneficial for eligible young people, it is not automatic, and the deadlines and final processing depend on each autonomous community. Therefore, it will be necessary to consult the specific calls for applications in each territory, including Catalonia, to know the exact details.
Generally, young people aged 18 to 35 who rent a home or room, can prove employment income, and have annual earnings below 3 times the IPREM will be eligible. The state-level program guideline is 250 euros per month for a maximum of two years, with the total aid not exceeding 75% of the rent.
The program's objectives are clear: to facilitate youth emancipation, expand the supply of affordable housing, and support renting. The new state plan reinforces the role of the State and the autonomous communities in housing access, considering it a key pillar of public policies.
To apply for the Young Rent Bonus, interested individuals must contact the administration of the territory where they reside or intend to reside. The autonomous communities are responsible for publishing the calls for applications, setting deadlines, and specifying requirements. The program applies to most regions, with the exception of the Basque Country and Navarra, which have their own programs.
