The President of the Lleida Provincial Council, Joan Talarn, has presented the Agrobiotech Innovation Forum 2026, taking place from October 27-29 at Fira de Lleida, positioning the city as a hub for agri-food innovation and bioeconomy.

The President of the Lleida Provincial Council, Joan Talarn, accompanied by the Deputy for Economic Promotion, Jordi Verdú, participated in the press conference to present the Agrobiotech Innovation Forum 2026. The event will take place from October 27 to 29 at the pavilions of Fira de Lleida.
The Lleida Provincial Council will have its own stand showcasing strategic projects, innovative business experiences, and hosting radio programs, aiming to connect scientific knowledge, the business fabric, and the primary sector. The event, held at the Auditori Joan Oró in the Parc Agrobiotech, also included the participation of the Mayor of Lleida, Fèlix Larrosa; the Government Delegate in the Lleida region, Núria Gil; the Director of Fira de Lleida, Eduard Martín; and the second Vice-President of the Lleida Chamber of Commerce, Pompili Roiger.
Joan Talarn highlighted the talent and resources of the Lleida, Pirineu, and Aran lands to become an AgroBioTech benchmark in Southern Europe, advocating for joint work between institutions, companies, economic and social agents, and knowledge centers, articulated through the G10 and the Shared Agenda Lleida, Land of Opportunities. "The economic transformation of our territory is a collective project," he stated.
The Provincial Council's stand will serve as a meeting point for companies, researchers, administrations, and entrepreneurs. It will feature advancements from the Specialized Transformative Innovation Centers (CITe) and initiatives like Lleida Alimenta, aimed at fostering a more competitive, innovative, and sustainable agri-food system. The project Pirineu Local Forest, promoting sustainable forest resource management, will also have a prominent presence.
Additionally, daily special radio programs will be broadcast from a studio at the stand. The Provincial Council will also collaborate on a financing day with entities such as ENISA, CDTI, the Catalan Finance Institute (ICF), and the Official Credit Institute (ICO), as well as the AgroBioTech Investment Forum, which will bring together emerging companies and investors.
The Provincial Council's objective is "that the knowledge we generate here becomes wealth that stays here," emphasized Talarn, reaffirming the institution's commitment to consolidating Lleida, Pirineu, and Aran as a leading territory in agri-food innovation and bioeconomy.
