Under the name Galicia, Factory of Innovation, the strategy seeks to "industrialize innovation" so that technological ideas reach the market, generating qualified employment in the region. The Minister of Economy and Industry, María Jesús Lorenzana, highlighted the growth in business R&D spending and the increase in personnel dedicated to these activities in recent years.
The strategy, structured into four axes (Activate, Enhance, Structure, and Mobilize) and 14 measures, includes a budget of €47.4 million for the first axis, 'Activate innovation in companies', focused on incorporating talent and specialized capabilities, particularly in SMEs.
The second axis, 'Enhance innovation', has €231.9 million and includes actions such as TIC-MAQ and Accelerator Galicia, as well as the 'Industrialize Innovation' program (€66.5M) for the validation and industrialization of technological solutions.
The third axis, 'Structure and connect' (€9.4M), will strengthen collaboration between companies and technology centers, while the fourth, 'Mobilize investment' (€113.1M), will provide resources for project development through tools like XesTransforma and the Venture Studio Fund.
The initiative also incorporates a personalized support model by the Igape to adapt aid to each company's situation. Objectives for 2028 include increasing the number of innovative companies by 25% and exceeding €1.5 billion in business spending on innovation.
