In the regional capital, Granollers, 2,685 contracts were formalized, representing an 11% increase compared to February. This monthly growth is reflected in 26 municipalities in the region, with significant rises also in les Franqueses (10%), Mollet del Vallès, and Santa Maria de Palautordera.
However, the year-on-year analysis reveals a downward trend. Granollers registered a 22% decrease in employment, with 756 fewer contracts than the previous year. The situation is similar in les Franqueses, where the loss reaches 24%, with 198 fewer contracts. Three municipalities, Cànoves i Samalús, Lliçà de Munt, and Figaró-Montmany, also saw their employment reduced.
Despite these negative figures in some areas, 22 municipalities in the region showed year-on-year growth. The Consell Comarcal highlights the increase in permanent contracts, with 4,296 signed in Vallès Oriental during March, a 10% rise from last year. In contrast, temporary employment decreased by 8% over the same period.
At the Catalan level, March closed with 217,315 formalized contracts. Of these, 44% were permanent and almost 56% temporary. Total employment in Catalonia increased by 16% compared to February and almost 8% compared to the previous year.
