The project, which has a total budget of 21 million euros, aims to replace the old network of ditches with a more efficient pressurized irrigation system. This initiative, promoted by the Sociedad Mercantil Estatal de Infraestructuras Agrarias (SEIASA), will reduce water losses and optimize energy consumption through the installation of an associated photovoltaic plant.
The components to be manufactured at the Camarles facilities are glass fiber reinforced polyester (GRP) pipes, with diameters ranging from 500 to 1,400 millimeters. The execution period for the supply of this material has been set at one year, with work expected to be completed by December.
This project will benefit nearly 273 farmers in several Aragonese municipalities, such as Almuniente, Senés de Alcubierre, Tardienta, Torralba de Aragón, and Torres de Barbúes. The work is part of the improvement plan for section II of the Monegros canal.
