The city of Barcelona will host the Media Party, an international conference focused on innovation in journalism and technology, taking place from September 7th to 9th at CaixaForum.

This will be the first European edition of the event, which has previously been organized in the United States and Argentina. The gathering will bring together industry professionals to discuss key topics such as information authenticity, generative artificial intelligence, news verification, new business models, and digital tools for newsrooms.
The Media Party invites journalists, developers, designers, product managers, researchers, and media leaders. For three days, CaixaForum will transform into a space for keynote speeches, practical workshops, collaborative work sessions, and an innovation project fair.
Confirmed speakers include Clara Jiménez, co-founder of the Maldita.es foundation; Nic Newman, a researcher from the University of Oxford; and Teresa Mondría, an expert in applying AI in newsrooms. The event is supported by organizations such as the Col·legi de Periodistes de Catalunya, the International Center for Journalists (ICFJ), and Free Press Unlimited.
Journalist Clara Soteras, a media consultant specializing in SEO and audience growth, will serve as the event's ambassador in Barcelona.
