The restaurant El Surtidor from Vilanova i la Geltrú has been recognized with the award for the best burger in Catalonia at the prestigious The Champions Burger competition, recently held in Barcelona.

The gastronomic event The Champions Burger, which has gained significant relevance in recent years, has concluded its Barcelona edition, held from April 9 to 19 at the Westfield La Maquinista shopping center. This festival not only offers an opportunity to taste various proposals but also acts as a competition where consumers vote for their favorites.
This year, the overall podium of the competition was occupied by the Gladiadora from The Vicbros Burger in first place, followed by the Royale Gold from Godeo, and the Money Mayweather from Gottan, which was the best burger in Europe in 2024. However, the special award for the best local burger in Catalonia went to the restaurant El Surtidor from Vilanova i la Geltrú.
The winning creation, named Imperial Wagyu, stands out as the first burger with authentic Japanese A5 wagyu in the history of the competition. Its ingredients include high brioche bun, Japanese A5 wagyu, aged ribeye, edible Tsubaki and Sakura flower, American smoked cheese, Yoichi wine onion jam, Hokkaido cheese foam, and the Geishas sauce, prepared by the restaurant itself.

"It was born in Vilanova i la Geltrú more than 15 years ago as a neighborhood Frankfurt. Generations have had breakfast here, groups of friends have had beers, and long days have been closed with a good burger. Today we are El Surti: a renovated version, but with the same heart. We have renovated the premises, redesigned our brand, and hit the road with 'The Champions Burger'. But we are still that place where you always feel at home."
