The result is a patented sole that combines real volcanic ash from Cumbre Vieja with rubber, an “unprecedented technical innovation,” according to the Center for Initiatives and Tourism.
The sole's composition not only holds symbolic value of rebirth but also provides functionality, giving the footwear distinctive resistance and character. The proposal aligns with the ‘barefoot’ or minimalist footwear concept, characterized by an anatomical shape, wide toe box, and ‘Zero Drop’ (no height difference), ensuring total foot freedom and a natural posture.
