In June 2026, the number of available vacation homes in the Canary Islands stood at 36,497, representing a 20 percent decrease compared to the previous year. This data is part of the Experimental Survey of Vacation Homes published by the Canary Islands Institute of Statistics (ISTAC).
The island of Tenerife concentrates the largest share of this supply, with 40 percent of the total. It is followed by Gran Canaria with 21 percent, Lanzarote with 18 percent, and Fuerteventura with 14 percent of this real estate stock.
In total, there are 148,882 available accommodation places in vacation homes, which represents a 21 percent decrease compared to June 2025. During June, 32,940 homes received at least one reservation, accounting for 90.2 percent of the homes available on the analyzed digital platforms.
The objective of this experimental statistical operation is to provide monthly indicators on the capacity, occupancy, and profitability of vacation homes offered on digital platforms. The data allows for comparison with traditional hotel and non-hotel accommodation surveys.
