Port traffic in Las Palmas grows by 2.7% through April

The Port Authority records over 11.7 million tons accumulated in the first four months of 2026.

The Port Authority of Las Palmas has recorded a 2.7% increase in total traffic during the first four months of 2026, reaching an accumulated volume of 11,772,948 tons.

The statistical balance for the first four months reflects an increase of 309,176 tons compared to the same period last year. This growth is supported by the positive performance of various indicators, particularly passenger traffic, which has seen a global rise of 5.43%, driven mainly by the cruise sector.
Regarding infrastructure, the Port of Las Palmas leads activity with a 2.62% growth and 10,222,683 tons. Meanwhile, the port of Salinetas has shown a notable increase of 34.38%, while the port of Arrecife maintains a stable trend with a slight rise of 0.09%. In contrast, the ports of Puerto del Rosario and Arinaga have recorded decreases in their traffic volumes during this period.

As for specific indicators, cargo traffic has grown by 3.24%, reaching 10,767,829 tons. Likewise, the frozen fish sector has experienced a significant rebound of 68.23%, while TEU units have increased by 5.73%, consolidating the operational capacity of the port facilities in the archipelago.
