The initiative, developed by the Canarian Institute of Agricultural Research (ICIA), involves an investment of 97,613 euros funded by Next Generation resources. The system is designed for isolated self-consumption and will serve as a testbed to analyze energy and agronomic performance under the archipelago's climatic conditions.
The installation consists of 60 bifacial photovoltaic modules arranged in vertical structures with a north-south orientation. This configuration allows for solar radiation capture on both sides of the panels, optimizing energy production and providing wind protection for crops.
With an installed capacity of 25 kWp, the plant has an estimated annual generation of 42,900 kWh. The equipment includes advanced monitoring systems that will allow for the evaluation of these technological solutions for future implementation in other agricultural holdings across the islands.
