The Fuerteventura Island Council has signed a collaboration agreement with the Association of Creative Artisans of Fuerteventura for €43,000 to promote and foster local craftsmanship.

The agreement, signed by the island's president, Lola García, the Crafts Councillor, Lolina Negrín, and the association's president, Felipe Nicolás Bobadilla, aims to promote Majorero crafts and defend the collective's interests.
The funding will support the association's activities and consolidate the exhibition and sales space in Betancuria, complementing the facility at Fuerteventura Airport. The goal is to boost the commercialization and promotion of the island's creations.

"A technical perfection that has contributed to enriching the Majorero heritage."

Lola García · President of the Fuerteventura Island Council
These actions are part of the Strategic Subsidy Plan for the Promotion and Dissemination of Fuerteventura Crafts 2026-2028, which allocates a total of €810,000.

"Craftsmanship constitutes a strategic sector of high cultural and economic value for our island, so it is important to establish these lines of aid through a plan that helps preserve the competitiveness of this sector, in addition to ensuring generational succession and job creation linked to crafts."
