A trade mission organized by Proexca has brought thirteen Japanese animation, live-action, and video game studios to Canarias to explore the islands' audiovisual ecosystem and establish strategic alliances.

Proexca has organized a trade mission where thirteen internationally renowned studios are visiting Canarias for a week to gain firsthand knowledge of the live-action, video game, and animation ecosystem and to establish strategic alliances between studios from both territories.
The Vice-Minister of the Presidency of the Government of Canarias and president of Proexca, Alfonso Cabello, received the Japanese delegation. "It is an honor for us to have you here in Canarias these days, visiting our ecosystem and learning firsthand about the advantages of investing in Canarias," he stated. "This mission is very important because the leading companies in the video game, animation, and live-action sectors are here and can discover everything Canarias can offer them to continue growing and forge strategic alliances and future projects with Canarian studios," he emphasized.
The representative of the Spanish Economic and Commercial Office in Tokyo, Asa Kanaseki, accompanied the group and applauded Proexca's work in promoting this industry, highlighting the institutional support and the quality of Canarian studios. "We are delighted to be here. All participating studios come with a schedule of meetings and a clear strategy to forge alliances from which we are sure successful future projects will emerge," she added.
The Japanese animation studio Ivi Dream Studio, established in Gran Canaria since 2024, highlighted through its CEO Hitoshi Saito the advantages of working from Canarias, advocating for the islands as a gateway to the anime world.
The delegation will complete a schedule of institutional and business meetings this week. On Monday, the group visited emblematic locations on the island of Gran Canaria and held meetings with the island's main studios and representatives of the Canary Special Zone – ZEC, in addition to visiting the studios and recording sets managed by the Society for Economic Promotion of Gran Canaria (SPEGC). Starting today, they will visit Tenerife and meet with local studios. Tomorrow, the delegation will attend meetings at the Science and Technology Park with regional video game associations Acadevi and Arcadev, the Film Commissions, and the Canary Audiovisual Cluster, concluding the mission with a farewell networking event at Foxter – Innovation Factory.
This mission aims for the external promotion of Canarian companies in this industry and to attract investment by introducing the reality and advantages of the islands to Japanese studios.
