Residents of Arona will soon be able to enjoy high-speed mobile connections thanks to the implementation of new 4G and 5G technologies on the 800 and 700 MHz bands, respectively. This advancement promises to significantly improve coverage, especially inside buildings, and expand the network's geographical reach.
The entity Llega700, established by the operators, will ensure the compatibility of this new technology with Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT), managing and resolving any potential impact on television signal reception free of charge for citizens.
This deployment is part of Royal Decree 579/2019, which freed up the frequencies from 694 to 790 MHz (UHF channels 49 to 60) previously used for DTT. These frequencies have now been allocated to mobile operators for providing new-generation mobile services.
The main advantages of this new mobile network include the introduction of innovative services and applications, significant improvements in download and upload speeds for data (photos, music, high-definition audiovisual content), and better performance for online applications like video games.
The new generation mobile network addresses challenges related to complex Spanish geographies where coverage traditionally failed and offers enhanced penetration inside buildings. It also facilitates new services for businesses and public administrations, such as high-multimedia mobile business applications and video calls.
For information on localities where these services are already active, citizens can consult Llega700's provided link: www.llega700.es/contacto_mapa.php. For DTT-related inquiries or issues, a free helpline (900 833 999) and the website www.llega700.es are available.
