The Harmonized Business Confidence Index (ICEA) in the Canary Islands registered 129.7 points in the third quarter of 2026, representing a 0.4% increase compared to the 129.2 points of the previous quarter.
Business expectations for the third quarter of 2026 show optimism: 23.5% of business managers anticipate a favorable evolution of their business, compared to 16.3% who expect an unfavorable scenario. The balance of expectations stands at 7.2 points, surpassing the 0.8 points from the previous quarter.
Regarding the business situation in the second quarter of 2026, 20.3% of managers described their business performance as favorable, while 18.5% considered it unfavorable. This results in a balance of situation of 1.8 points, lower than the 6.6 points from the previous period.
By islands, business confidence increased by 5.4% in El Hierro, 3.0% in Gran Canaria, and 1.7% in La Palma. Conversely, a decrease was observed in Tenerife (-1.7%), Lanzarote (-1.4%), Fuerteventura (-1.1%), and La Gomera (-0.1%).
In terms of economic sectors, confidence rose by 4.2% in industry, 2.3% in construction, 1.9% in other services, and 0.1% in commerce. The transport and hospitality sector saw a decline of 4.8%.
