Tharsis Mining has redefined its strategic approach in Andalusia, prioritizing the reopening of the Tharsis mines in Huelva and other key projects within the Iberian Pyrite Belt, after withdrawing from less viable exploration permits.

Tharsis Mining has initiated a significant restructuring of its project portfolio in Andalusia. The primary objective is to concentrate resources on initiatives with higher development expectations and viability. Central to this strategy is the reopening project for the Tharsis mines, which is currently undergoing environmental processing.
As part of this reorganization, the company has decided to withdraw from certain exploration permits before their concession. This decision is based on geological, environmental, and legal criteria, aiming to focus activities on projects with greater technical and economic potential.

"In some cases, and prior to their granting, we have withdrawn from certain permits for geological, environmental, or legal reasons, concentrating our efforts on those with higher expectations of success."

This strategic adjustment coincides with the progress of its main assets in the province of Huelva, where Tharsis Mining maintains its largest volume of activity. Notably, the reopening project for the Tharsis mines, whose Unified Environmental Authorization (AAU) file has entered the public information phase after its publication in the BOJA.
This initiative foresees the exploitation of gold, copper, and cobalt over a 30-year period, mobilizing over 120 million tons of resources in a historic enclave of the Iberian Pyrite Belt. Additionally, the company is working on the development of the Filón Norte-San Guillermo deposit and the La Zarza project, strengthening its position in Southern Europe's main mining belt.
Exploratory activity continues in other areas, albeit more selectively. The company currently holds two granted exploration permits in the province of Seville, where work is ongoing, while other applications submitted in different Andalusian provinces are still awaiting resolution.
This strategic adjustment occurs within a context of metallic mining reactivation in Andalusia, particularly in Huelva, driven by the demand for critical raw materials and growing interest in resources associated with the energy transition. Tharsis Mining thus reinforces its commitment to the historic projects of the Pyrite Belt, prioritizing those with a higher degree of geological knowledge and operational viability to reduce uncertainty and accelerate industrial developments.
