The Córdoba Provincial Council has formalized a contract for the renovation of the water supply network in the eastern region of the province, with an investment exceeding half a million euros.

This significant project, totaling 524,967 euros, is designed to enhance the hydraulic infrastructure and will directly benefit 30,902 residents in the towns of Montoro, Pedro Abad, El Carpio, Villafranca, Bujalance, and Cañete de las Torres.
The works will focus on three key interventions aimed at optimizing water transport capacity while simultaneously addressing the issue of leaks, which currently account for a substantial loss of hectometers. The initiative underscores a commitment to sustainability and efficiency in water resource management.
The first phase of the project involves renovating the Montoro branch, which entails replacing the existing pipeline with a ductile iron one from the diversion point to the municipal reservoirs. This improvement is crucial for ensuring a stable and high-quality supply.
The second intervention will focus on the diversion between Adamuz and Pedro Abad, with the installation of 1,107 linear meters of ductile iron piping. This upgrade will positively impact the water supply for Pedro Abad, El Carpio, and Villafranca de Córdoba. Finally, the third action will include the construction of an aerial crossing over the Veredas stream, ensuring the proper functioning of this waterway and benefiting Bujalance and Cañete de las Torres.

"These three actions are fundamental to improving the transport capacity of the water we supply to these towns and represent another step in the process of renovating the province's water supply pipeline network."
