Córdoba's Municipal Urban Planning Management has opened for public review the environmental qualification request for a new hotel to be located on Teniente Braulio Laportilla street, marking a crucial step towards its construction in the Historic Center.

The project for a new hotel establishment in the heart of Córdoba has officially begun its administrative process. The Gerencia Municipal de Urbanismo (GMU) of the City Council has received the environmental qualification request, an essential requirement for its development, and has made it available for public information for a period of 20 working days.
This future hotel will be situated at number 5 on Teniente Braulio Laportilla street, a strategic location just a few meters from Plaza de Las Tendillas, between Góngora and Morería streets. The developer has already contracted Salsum Consultoría y Servicios Arqueológicos to carry out the mandatory archaeological surveys, in accordance with the archaeology charter of the city's General Urban Planning Plan (PGOU).
The property in question, a single-family house built around 1910 by Adolfo Castiñeyra Boloix, is included in the Catalog of Protected Assets of Córdoba's Historic Complex (Pepch). It features a patio design, including a main patio and a carriage patio, with three floors topped by an Andalusian-style flat rooftop. It is anticipated that, as it involves the rehabilitation of an existing building without a basement, the surveys will not reveal findings that would alter the initial proposal.
This project joins other initiatives in the city's tourism sector. Since late March, the GMU has also had three environmental qualification requests for tourist apartment projects under public review. One will be located on Horno, 6 street, near the Calahorra Tower; another in the same area on Espalda Santo Cristo, 1-A street; and the third on Buen Pastor, 2 street, in the heart of the Historic Center, which will include a swimming pool.
These developments reflect the continuous expansion of tourist accommodation in Córdoba, following a trend observed in recent months. Recently, licenses were granted for 15 tourist apartments on Sevilla, 3 street, near Plaza de Las Tendillas, and another 14 on Ambrosio de Morales, 14 street.
