Signing of an agreement between the Málaga City Council and Bancosol.

The Málaga City Council has renewed the free land cession to Bancosol for 25 years, allowing the social entity to continue its food support work for thousands of vulnerable people in the province.

The charitable institution Bancosol will operate for at least another 25 years from its current facilities located in the Trévenez business park in Málaga. The delegate councilor for Urban Planning, Carmen Casero, and the president of Bancosol, Diego Vázquez, have signed the extension of the surface right over a municipal plot of 6,260.11 m2 on Escritora Gertrudis Gómez de Avellaneda street.
Bancosol has described the renewal as an "important institutional endorsement" that guarantees stability to continue providing food to people in need. The entity's president, Diego Vázquez, has thanked the "permanent collaboration" of the Málaga City Council and its mayor, Francisco de la Torre, highlighting that this support has been "decisive for the entity's growth" and for consolidating its project as "a benchmark of solidarity in the province".
Vázquez also emphasized the City Council's "sensitivity" towards the most vulnerable people and the commitment of the Urban Planning Management, through its Councilor, Carmen Casero, to facilitate the continuity of the service. The main objective is to ensure that "no family in the province of Málaga lacks food due to lack of resources".
The Food Bank of the Costa del Sol, founded in 1998, has redistributed 97,326,053 kilograms of food throughout its history. Currently, Bancosol collaborates with 129 social entities and provides food support to 21,764 people, of whom approximately one-third are minors. In addition to food distribution, the organization has developed training and socio-labor inclusion programs since 2014, helping 1,578 people find employment.
The renewal of the land cession consolidates Bancosol's future, strengthening its work against poverty and reaffirming it as "one of the main benchmarks of solidarity" in the province of Málaga.
