The Municipal Institute for Employment and Business Training (IMEFE) in Jaén has secured its largest ever funding, 116,316 euros, for the Young Eurolab Erasmus+ program.

This pioneering initiative aims to enable vocational training (FP) students from the province to supplement their academic studies with practical experience in companies located in other European countries. The goal is to equip participants with new professional, linguistic, cultural, and personal competencies, while exposing them to diverse work environments to enhance their future employment prospects.
As reported by IMEFE, this new edition represents a significant boost to the institute's strategy, focusing on training, international mobility, and youth employability in Jaén, while simultaneously strengthening the European dimension of vocational training in the region.
IMEFE will serve as the main coordinator for the project, leading a consortium that includes several educational and training institutions such as IES Virgen del Carmen, IES El Valle, IES San Juan Bosco, IES Auringis, IES Santa Catalina, CDP Santa María de los Apóstoles, Fundación Albor, and PGO Formación Profesional.

"International mobility is a fundamental tool for improving the employability of our young people. Leaving their environment, learning about different ways of working, facing new challenges, and navigating an international context provides them with professional and personal skills that are increasingly valued by companies."

The training stays will offer different durations: mobilities of up to 93 days will be available for second-year vocational training cycle students and for those who have already obtained their qualification. First-year students will be able to participate in 15-day mobilities.
The Young Eurolab Erasmus+ program encompasses comprehensive internship management, ensuring they are tailored to the professional profile of each selected participant. It includes a preparatory cultural and linguistic course prior to the stay, as well as civil liability, accident, and sickness insurance coverage throughout the mobility period. Beneficiaries will receive individualized tutoring both in their home country and in the host country, from the resolution of the Assessment Commission to the program's conclusion, receiving certification upon completion.
