The company Hidroinfiltrador, based in Granada, has been recognized for its innovative proposal in the field of agricultural water efficiency. Its project is one of 15 chosen to be part of the fourth edition of the AgroBank Tech Digital INNovation program, an initiative by AgroBank in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPA).
This program's main objective is to drive the digital transformation of the agri-food sector, seeking technological solutions that address current challenges. The selected startups, including the one from Granada, will begin an acceleration process and receive specialized executive training from the EAE Business School.
The solution developed by Hidroinfiltrador consists of an irrigation system that applies water and nutrients directly to the roots of crops, thus optimizing water resource usage. This system, connected to a drip emitter, also incorporates protective elements against wild fauna and utilizes runoff water, promoting more sustainable irrigation management.
“"To respond to today's agri-food challenges with tomorrow's solutions, by supporting technological companies that promote the digital transformation of the countryside."
This year's call attracted 196 startups with agrotech projects focused on optimizing natural and energy resources. Strategic challenges addressed include transformative technologies, smart water management, circular economy, biotechnology, innovation in packaging and logistics, and data and smart traceability platforms.
The 15 finalists, from various Spanish provinces such as Cuenca, Almería, Granada, Navarra, Valencia, Lleida, A Coruña, Sevilla, Barcelona, Zaragoza, Murcia, Madrid, Lugo, and Vizcaya, will participate in a program designed to validate and scale their solutions, with access to proof-of-concept testing, specialized mentoring, and visibility at sectoral events.
