The Provincial Council of Córdoba has announced the creation of the Provincial Office for Productive Spaces (Olep) to modernize industrial parks and attract investment.

The Provincial Council of Córdoba will launch the Provincial Office for Productive Spaces (Olep), an initiative aimed at modernizing and regenerating the province's industrial parks. The goal is to transform them into "competitive spaces" that facilitate the attraction of new companies and economic development.
The president of the provincial institution explained that Olep will function as a one-stop shop, offering comprehensive support to municipalities for the development of these sites. Specific aid lines will be sought, the renewable energy sector will be promoted, and incentives for accessing real estate will be boosted.
Currently, the province has 182 industrial parks covering over 31 million square meters and hosting 3,180 companies. A study has identified eight key industrial development axes, considered "poles" with potential for wealth and job creation.
The initiative seeks to equip the industrial parks with the necessary infrastructure and services to foster competitiveness, innovation, investment, and job creation, for both local and foreign firms. A strategic vision for their comprehensive regeneration and modernization is being proposed.
This measure aligns with the Law on Productive Spaces for the Promotion of Industry in Andalusia. The Regional Government of Andalusia, meanwhile, will open a window to process aid amounting to 50 million euros for industrial land banks, which can be invested in energy improvements, access roads, waste management, and security.
