Cajamar and UECoE Recognize Entrepreneurial Culture in Spanish Educational Centers

The 'Emprendemos' contest distinguishes ESO and FP students for their innovative initiatives linked to the social economy.

Grupo Cooperativo Cajamar and the Spanish Union of Educational Cooperatives (UECoE) have honored the innovative initiatives of ESO and Vocational Training students in the ninth edition of the 'Emprendemos' contest.

The event, held at the cooperative school GSD Las Rozas in Madrid, recognized the promotion of entrepreneurial culture and cooperative principles among youth. The ceremony was attended by prominent figures such as the Secretary of State for the Social Economy, Amparo Merino, and the president of UECoE, Javier Martínez Cuaresma.
The 'Emprendemos' contest aims to raise awareness of innovative educational projects and promote the social economy. The jury, composed of representatives from the Ministry of Labor and Social Economy, the Ministry of Education, the Complutense University of Madrid, and the CNMV, evaluated the proposals submitted by schools from all over Spain.
Among the award-winning centers are San Agustín school in Fuente Álamo and Valle del Miro school in Valdemoro, honored ex aequo in category A for their projects 'Jóvenes Express' and 'Aura'. The IES La Melva in Elda received the award for Best entrepreneurial initiative from a non-cooperative center for 'Re-Live Objects', while the Tear Cooperative in Granada was recognized for its work 'Core Coop'.

The objective is to promote an entrepreneurial culture among young people, disseminate the principles of cooperativism, and give visibility to innovative educational initiatives linked to the social economy.

Additionally, a Special Mention was awarded to the project 'Still Good' by IES La Melva in Elda. The event also included the III Intercooperative School Championship Humanity at Play, focused on instilling cooperative values.
