The Mexican multinational Alsea will drive the expansion of its VIPS, Ginos, and Foster's Hollywood brands in Andalusia, with the opening of 15 new establishments by 2030.

The organized restaurant company Alsea, with 35 years of experience and global presence, has announced an ambitious expansion plan in Andalusia. The strategy focuses on the VIPS, Ginos, and Foster's Hollywood brands, aiming to open 15 new restaurants in the region by 2030. These would be added to the 48 FSR (Food Service Restaurant) establishments that Alsea currently manages in Andalusia, primarily located in Málaga and Sevilla, provinces considered strategic by the company.
Luis Trancho, Director of Development and Franchises FSR at Alsea, highlighted the growth potential of these brands in the autonomous community. "We consider it a key territory within our strategy," stated Trancho, noting that Ginos presents "many market opportunities" and that "a major bet" will be made on VIPS. Regarding Foster's Hollywood, which already has a larger presence, growth will be "more surgical".
Currently, Alsea operates 25 Foster's, 12 VIPS, and 11 Ginos in Andalusia, with approximately 35% of its units operating under a franchise model. The company has recently opened a new VIPS at Málaga Factory and plans to open another at the Los Arcos Shopping Center in Seville, both of which are company-owned locations.
The expansion will be supported by a new establishment model with smaller formats, approximately 220 square meters. This size reduction will allow Alsea to "reach many more areas" and attract new franchisees by requiring a "lower investment." "We have many interested partners," assured Trancho, who is confident that "a significant part of the progress will come via franchising."
Alsea anticipates that these three brands will grow above the market, even in a context of general slowdown. The company works with an 18-month horizon for gastronomic offering development. Additionally, Domino's Pizza, a brand Alsea manages as a master franchisee in Andalusia, has 73 restaurants in the community.
