This project, executed by Greening, is located next to Acesur's packaging plant in the Jaén town and represents an innovative combination of industrial energy self-consumption and agricultural activity. The installation respects one hundred percent of the existing trees and keeps the crop intact, making it a benchmark in the sector.
With an installed capacity of 3.65 MWp and more than 5,150 solar panels, the structures are elevated more than four meters high, allowing for the continuation of usual agricultural tasks, including olive harvesting. The system is complemented by a 3 MWh energy storage (BESS), designed to optimize self-consumption and improve the management of generated energy.
“"For Acesur, innovating makes sense when it is done from the origin. This project allows us to advance in renewable self-consumption, reduce our carbon footprint, and, at the same time, protect the olive grove from which our oils are born."
The company has described the project as a «milestone» in the energy transition of the agro-industrial sector, demonstrating the feasibility of moving towards energy independence without sacrificing an emblematic crop or altering its productive operation, while generating environmental, economic, and social benefits.
The technical execution has been carried out by Greening, which has contributed its expertise in advanced energy solutions for complex industrial environments. This project has received a grant of 2.8 million euros from the Institute for Diversification and Energy Saving (IDAE), aimed at promoting the integration of renewable energies in industrial and productive settings.
