Among the most notable interventions is the installation of solar lighting on the Barranco Rubio promenade. This initiative includes the placement of 20 columns with LED lamps powered by solar energy, with the primary goal of reinforcing safety in this coastal area. The contract for this action has been awarded to the company Iluminaciones Granja for an amount of 37,147 euros, with a maximum execution period of 30 days.
Furthermore, the council has contracted new digital equipment to optimize visitor services. A screen will be installed for the 24-hour information point of the Orihuela Costa City Council, as well as a television screen and an interactive table in the Tourist Info Orihuela office. This improvement, aimed at strengthening tourist communication and visitor experience, has been awarded to the company Interactive System Developers for 14,319.14 euros, with an execution period of two months.
These actions are complemented by the drafting of a new tourism marketing plan for the municipality. The assignment, awarded to Sien Consulting Planificación Inteligente for 12,705 euros, will review the plan developed in 2023 and design a detailed action program for the next five years. The objective is to position Orihuela as an accessible, sustainable, and diversified tourist destination.
“"With these actions, we continue to make Orihuela a more attractive and sustainable destination, consolidating it as a reference point for national and international tourism."
The Councillor for Tourism, Gonzalo Montoya, emphasized that these initiatives will allow significant progress in improving the destination. All these actions are part of the subsidy granted by the Ministry of Industry and Tourism, as part of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, funded by the European Next Generation EU funds.
