The Mayor of Villena, Fulgencio Cerdán, and the Councilor for Economic Development, Paula García, have agreed with the Shanghai Chamber of Commerce to hold a bilateral meeting between related companies from Villena and Chinese firms. The objective is to establish mutually beneficial commercial contacts. The proposal came from the Asian promoters, who will cover the travel costs within Chinese territory.
During the meeting, the municipal delegation presented the Levante Interior Logistics Hub project to several Chinese businessmen and investors, who showed great interest. This logistics infrastructure, aimed at facilitating access to the European market, positions Villena as a key point thanks to its connection to the Mediterranean Corridor and its proximity to the ports of Valencia and Alicante.
Cerdán highlighted the area's industrial potential, particularly in the agri-food and wine sectors, as well as in technical footwear, technology, and fertilizers. He emphasized the demand for high-end products generated by Villena's companies.
The City Council, along with local entrepreneurs and the collaboration of ICEX, has prepared a comprehensive offer of products and services to be presented to Chinese investors. The goal is to expand the commercial opportunities for Villena's companies, foster growth, and create more employment.
