The Valencian Government has started providing documentation to the Alicante Institute of Economic Studies (Ineca) to oversee public investments in the province, a crucial step for accountability.

This action marks the first firm step by the Valencian executive towards the accountability that businesses have demanded for years. The objective is to achieve transparency and understand in detail where and how public works are being carried out in the province of Alicante.
The president of Ineca has highlighted the progress made, as the analysis of documentation has begun and a working system has been established. Teams from Ineca and the Ministry of Infrastructure will meet again in three months to continue this process.
The meeting was productive, with figures provided by various general directorates. Furthermore, a direct channel has been opened to clarify any doubts about the material, which will allow for greater productivity for both parties.
As a starting point, Ineca aims to analyze the execution for the year 2025. The institute already has a information base that allows identifying the behavior of certain investments, including in some cases the degree of execution. This represents an important step towards a more rigorous and useful study, although the goal is to extend this analysis to all investment areas.
