The Valencia City Council and Microsoft have signed a collaboration protocol to offer free training and official certifications in Artificial Intelligence (AI) to all citizens and the more than 5,500 municipal public employees.

Through the Valencia Innovation Capital strategy, the city joins the global Microsoft Elevate Skilling program, becoming the first major Spanish capital to facilitate universal and simultaneous access to this technology. Starting today, interested parties can register for courses via the website iavalencia4all.es to improve their digital skills and employability.
The agreement establishes two differentiated training itineraries to cover all population needs. The ‘AI Skills for Employability’ program is open to all residents registered in Valencia, allowing them to obtain an official Microsoft certification with free exam access. On the other hand, the ‘AI for Social Entities’ itinerary is specifically designed for municipal workers, combining theoretical concepts with practical applications aimed at optimizing the provision of public services through the use of conversational assistants and support tools.

"The city decides today that no citizen will be left behind in this transformation that changes the economy and work. The goal is for every registered person and every municipal employee to have free access to the best training to position Valencia at the level of the best European capitals in digital training."

With this alliance, Valencia joins a select map of digital training that already includes regions such as Madrid, Andalusia, and Aragon. The initiative, coordinated by the Innovation department, includes a monitoring panel to measure the impact of the training in real time. The ultimate goal is to democratize access to technological knowledge and ensure that digital transformation benefits the entire community, providing citizens with internationally recognized credentials in a highly competitive labor market.

"AI is only transformative if it is accessible to everyone. Valencia is an example of how local institutions ensure that digital transformation benefits the community, providing tools for better public service and new future opportunities for citizens."
