The Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV) is holding its Invention Fair on Friday, May 8th, at the southern promenade of the City of Arts and Sciences, offering a day of science, technology, and creativity for all audiences.

This event, located next to the Science Museum, will feature 34 research and innovation stands, along with 17 educational workshops designed for all ages. In the morning, from 10:30 AM to 2:00 PM, schools and institutes are invited to participate, with registration still open. In the afternoon, from 4:30 PM to 8:00 PM, access will be free for families and anyone interested in science and innovation.
The fair will showcase real projects developed by UPV researchers and students, covering areas such as robotics, artificial intelligence, space, sustainable cities, agriculture, biomedical engineering, telecommunications, and audiovisual creation. Attendees can enjoy live demonstrations and practical activities, such as extracting DNA from plants, capturing CO₂, drawing with sound waves, or turning a mobile phone into a microscope.
Prototypes like robots, drones, space satellites, solar and electric vehicles, competition motorcycles, and AI-based medical systems will also be on display. The social and environmental impact of innovation will be evident in projects aimed at improving communication for people with ALS, monitoring vulnerable groups, or producing modular housing for climate emergencies.
Concurrently, the Science Museum will host the “Robot Challenge” competition, where Secondary, Baccalaureate, and Vocational Training students will compete with self-designed and programmed robots. The event will include exhibition areas featuring innovative robotics and educational technology projects. The Invention Fair is part of the UPV's scientific outreach program, supported by the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT), the Generalitat Valenciana, and the City of Arts and Sciences.
