The Vila-real Merchants Union (UCOVI), in collaboration with the Vila-real City Council, has launched a spring campaign to boost local commerce, involving over 120 establishments and distributing 1,000 promotional umbrellas.

This initiative aims to incentivize purchases in local businesses and strengthen consumption in neighborhood shops. To obtain one of the umbrellas, specially designed for this campaign, consumers must make three minimum purchases of 10 euros in three different stores or one or two purchases totaling 100 euros in various establishments. The campaign will run until supplies last.
The presentation of the campaign was attended by the Councilor for Commerce, Xus Madrigal; the president and secretary of UCOVI, Carmen Gil and Tere Esteve, respectively; as well as Jennifer Covrig, Paula Cantavella, and Maialen Vázquez, also representing the entity.

During the event, Madrigal reiterated the government team's commitment to local commerce, which he defined as one of the pillars of Vila-real's economy. In this regard, he recalled other support measures implemented in recent months, such as commercial voucher campaigns, which the council plans to resume before summer, in addition to various tax breaks and collaboration agreements with the sector.
UCOVI has emphasized the importance of local commerce as a generator of life, employment, and social cohesion in the city. The entity has stressed the need to strengthen shopping habits in local businesses and to continue promoting campaigns that help build customer loyalty. With this new initiative, Vila-real once again supports a city model where local commerce plays a prominent role in both economic development and the social life of the municipality.
