The Quart de Poblet City Council, through its Linguistic Normalization Service, has distributed Valencian labels and signs to 55 local businesses for the summer sales season.

This initiative, part of a collaboration between the Valencian Promotion Agencies and the Linguistic Normalization Unit of the Diputació de València, aims to enhance the use of Valencian in the local commercial sector. Mayoress Cristina Mora and the Councillor for Employment, Economic Promotion, and Businesses, Fran Hidalgo, have visited some of the participating establishments, which are already displaying 'Rebaixes' (Sales) and 'Descomptes' (Discounts) signs.
Many of these businesses also participate in the Bo Comerç (Trade Voucher) campaign, allowing residents to use their vouchers for discounted products. The objective is twofold: to support local businesses and to dignify the use of Valencian within these establishments.
Additionally, the application period for grants supporting the use of Valencian in local commerce has opened and closes on June 30th. These grants can amount to up to 600 euros and are intended for signage, websites, informational brochures, and media advertising.
Soon, the Awards for the Use of Valencian in Local Commerce will also be launched. These awards will recognize the correct use of the language in signage, printed materials, and new technologies, as well as the proactive attitude of businesses in promoting it.
