The accumulated annual total traffic reached 724,729 tons, representing an increase of 5.69% compared to the same period last year. This evolution reinforces the infrastructure's role as one of the most relevant logistics nodes in the province of Alicante.
During March, general merchandise totaled 327,034 tons, with a year-on-year growth of 26.24%. In the annual accumulated, this traffic amounts to 718,374 tons, 5.10% more than in the same period of 2025. This trend confirms the weight of this category within the overall port activity and its capacity to sustain the port's growth.
One of the most notable indicators is that of containers. The port moved 24,617 TEUs in March, 46.22% more than a year ago. For the year as a whole, the figure already reaches 55,610 TEUs, with an increase of 13.35%. This progress reflects the consolidation of Alicante as a competitive logistics enclave within the Mediterranean arc and points to an improvement in its capacity to attract value-added traffic.
Passenger traffic also registered a very significant evolution during March. The port recorded 31,577 travelers, representing an increase of 107.63% compared to the same month last year. In the annual accumulated, the figure rises to 66,147 passengers, with a rise of 78.09%, reinforcing the growing importance of this segment in the overall activity of the facility.
Within this section, the performance of cruises has been particularly outstanding. Alicante received 7 calls and 22,419 passengers in March, compared to 7,490 in the same month of 2025. So far this year, the port has already accumulated 33,583 cruise passengers, with a growth of 348.37%. These data consolidate the projection of the Alicante enclave within international cruise traffic and point to greater tourist and commercial attractiveness of the destination.
Another data point reflecting this operational improvement is ship provisioning. During March, this indicator grew by 183.09%, while in the annual accumulated it reached 6,355 tons, almost triple that of a year earlier. This evolution demonstrates greater intensity of port activity and reinforces the port's position as a reference in its logistical environment.
With these results, the Port of Alicante strengthens its growth path at the start of 2026 and reinforces its contribution to the economic and commercial development of its area of influence.
