The Miguel Hernández University Science Park (PCUMH) and the Alicante Local Agency for Economic and Social Development (ALIA) have signed an agreement to boost the economy and innovation in the province.

The objective of this cooperation is to consolidate Alicante as an investment destination, innovation hub, and Mediterranean connection point. The agreement, promoted by the PCUMH and the Alicante City Council, emphasizes collaboration between the public and private sectors. The managing director of the UMH Science Park, Tonia Salinas, and the Councilor for Employment and Development of the Alicante City Council, María del Carmen de España, signed the agreement.
Specifically, this agreement aims to foster the identification and development of innovation in key sectors, attract talent and investment, and create networks that enhance the city's economic dynamism. The entities will collaborate on initiatives such as Alicante Futura Lab and the Alicante Futura Summit, the province's main annual innovation event.
Furthermore, they will jointly develop pilot projects in Alicante Futura Sandbox, a testing environment for validating technological solutions. All of this is intended to strengthen synergies and promote the development of joint initiatives, generating a favorable environment for start-ups, companies, and strategic sectors.
The delegation from the Alicante City Council visited some of the facilities at the UMH Science Park, including the Quorum III building with its shared laboratories and cell culture lab. They also toured the facilities of Emxys, a company designing micro-satellites; the genetics laboratory Bioarray; and Centro Crea, specializing in treatments for Eating Disorders (TCA). Finally, the delegation visited the prototyping laboratory in the Quorum II building.
