The Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV), the Universitat de València (UV), the Centre for Technological Development and Innovation (CDTI), and the Red Innpulso Association have signed an agreement to establish the ARRELS-CDTI Chair.

This new chair, to be directed by Jordi Peris, a researcher at INGENIO (CSIC-UPV), aims to promote territory-rooted innovation to address climate change challenges from a local perspective. The INGENIO institute will serve as the reference center for its research activities.
The ARRELS initiative is particularly relevant in the Valencian Community, especially following recent climate events, and seeks to strengthen local governments' capacity to anticipate and respond to climate impacts. It aims to foster co-creation of solutions with municipalities, businesses, technology centers, and citizens.
Furthermore, the Chair will promote knowledge and experience exchange among universities, public administrations, and other stakeholders to advance towards more climate-resilient territories.
