This operation is part of Grupo Mercadalia's strategic plan, focused on the vertical integration of industries complementary to its main activity in the food and nutrition sector. The group is known for owning Damel Group, a leader in confectionery and snacks with brands such as Damel, Palotes, Kelia, Meivel, and #KÉ and Casamayor, as well as Boston Nutraceutical Science, specializing in food supplements and sports nutrition under the Vitaldin brand.
The acquired plant, spanning nearly 20,000 square meters, specializes in the blow molding of plastic containers for multiple industrial sectors. With this new addition, the facilities are expected to produce almost 100% of the bottles used by Boston Nutraceutical Science in the production of its food supplements, including products like melatonin, multivitamins, probiotics, or DHA, currently marketed in over 20 countries.
The project includes an investment in new production models to expand the product portfolio that the new company, Guadalaviar Packaging S.L., will offer to the market. In addition to strengthening the group's value chain, the operation will integrate nearly a hundred families into Mercadalia's business project, reaffirming the company's commitment to employment, the local industrial fabric, and the economic development of the Valencian Community.
With this acquisition, Grupo Mercadalia advances its strategy of industrial consolidation, process optimization, and improved productive efficiency, solidifying its position as a relevant player in the food and nutritional supplementation sectors. Mercadalia is a Spanish industrial group with over 30 years of business trajectory.
