More than 380,000 commercial companies in the Valencian Community will have to adapt this year to a significant modification in the filing of their annual accounts with the Commercial Registry.

The Official College of Sworn Auditors of the Valencian Community has warned about the importance of this update, which includes the new National Classification of Economic Activities (CNAE-2025). This regulation replaces the one in force since 2009 and requires companies to re-identify their economic activity with updated codes.
According to institutional sources, this modification is not just a technical procedure but has direct practical consequences. Correct classification is essential for preparing statistics, processing public aid, and applying sector-specific regulations. Therefore, SMEs and micro-enterprises are advised to review their models in advance to avoid incidents.

"Beyond regulatory compliance, annual accounts are a company's main financial calling card for investors, financial institutions, suppliers, and public administrations."

The new model also incorporates changes in accounting and tax regulations, with a greater focus on fiscal transparency. Companies that do not submit complete information are exposed to registrar requirements, which can lead to the expiration of legal deadlines and inclusion in the list of non-compliant companies, a situation that already generated hundreds of sanctioning proceedings last year.
