IFA Fira Alacant has concluded the fiscal year with a reduction of over 80% in its losses compared to the previous year, an advancement that confirms the institution's economic recovery and the strengthening of its trade fair activity. The deficit has decreased from 298,000 euros to 54,000 euros, an improvement attributed to cost control, more efficient management, and the decision to invest in infrastructure that had suffered from years of neglect.
According to the management of IFA Fira Alacant, the modernization of the venue's spaces is enabling more functional and efficient facilities, which enhances institutional reputation, builds trust, and reduces recurring repair expenses. The General Director, Alejandro Morant, highlighted the implementation of a preventive maintenance plan that oversees all infrastructures and systems “to ensure savings, safety, and reliability for exhibitors and visitors”.
The increase in both fair and non-fair activities has led to a revenue growth of around 10%, while consolidating a policy of eliminating superfluous costs and optimizing resources, in a context marked by the generalized rise in service prices, the trade fair institution notes.
The institution has expanded its calendar with new events, such as Alicante Pasión Cofrade, which in its first edition surpassed 6,000 visitors. Likewise, the Expovans & Trucks fair, launched in 2024, has established itself as the sole national fair specializing in commercial and industrial vehicles, contributing significantly to the entity's growth.
Forecasts for 2026 indicate a further improvement in structural revenues thanks to measures such as the recovery of direct parking management; the tendering of cafeterias and restaurants, which will result in an approximate 50% increase in income; and agreements with event promoters, some already signed for 2027 and others in the final stages of formalization. These actions will allow for continued progress in the institution's economic stability, according to Morant.
The strategy promoted by the general management has positioned IFA Fira Alacant more competitively to attract internationally relevant events. For 2027, three high-impact events have already been confirmed: the World Tattoo Championship; the World Congress of Golf Companies, and the European Expomascotas Championship within its canine exhibition.
