The first phase of the auction for Frost-trol's assets, the former industrial refrigeration company in Cabanes, has successfully concluded, attracting nearly 200 participants and generating a thousand offers for machinery and movable goods.

This phase, which ended on Thursday, saw an industrial unit valued at 3.8 million euros sold for 2 million euros. The auction for the industrial warehouse, the most valuable part, concludes this Friday, with a valuation of 21.8 million euros and a starting price of 10.9 million euros.
In the initial stage, about sixty machinery units were put up for sale, with a total value exceeding eight million euros. Of these, 3.8 million corresponded to the industrial unit, specializing in Finn Power lines and epoxy paint, and the remainder to inventory valued at 4.3 million euros. Bids neared 200, with the purchase of the production line for more than half its starting price being a highlight. The Frost-trol brand was also auctioned, receiving an offer of 100 euros.
The industrial warehouse, considered the crown jewel of the former Frost-trol, spans over 47,000 square meters, divided into three registered properties. It is located in sector S-4 of Cabanes' PGOU, within the CV-10/AP-7 logistics corridor. The factory, only six years old, was inaugurated in 2020, when Frost-trol was a benchmark in manufacturing industrial refrigerators and employed over 500 workers.
The company's problems began in 2021 with internal fraud that caused a 14 million euro impact on inventory. Despite maintaining a turnover of 45 million euros in 2024, financial problems led to a lack of working capital, preventing them from paying suppliers. In 2025, the company ceased operations, laid off its staff, and entered receivership. Now, it remains to be seen if an investor acquires the industrial warehouse to launch a new activity, as the brand and production unit have already been acquired.
