Companies from Villena are seeking new opportunities in the Chinese market thanks to a trade mission organized by a municipal delegation. The objective is to find investors, develop logistics platforms, and establish new business alliances between both countries. The companies participating in this trade trip have presented their portfolio of products and services, including Cooperativa Las Virtudes, Casa Balaguer, Bodegas Sierra Salinas, Bodegas Francisco Gómez, Q-Robótica, Biocomercio, Hexagon Agro SL, D’Villena, Snacks El Valle, Atlántica Agrícola, and Boreal.
The municipal delegation includes the mayor, Fulgencio Cerdán; the Councilor for Economic Development, Paula García; and the Director of the Cabinet for Promotion and Economic Development, Manuel Amorós. This trip follows a meeting with the Institute of Foreign Trade (ICEX), which provided specific information for exporting products and penetrating the Chinese market, including required documentation, tax procedures, and certificates.
The Chinese market, one of the world's largest exporters, shows a high demand for quality products such as wines, olive oil, general food items, technology, technical or high-end footwear, organic produce, and new-generation fertilizers. Chinese authorities have established contact rounds with the Villena delegation in the city of Guilin to foster dual alliances, both for Spanish companies looking to operate in China and for Asian companies seeking European partners.
The mayor of Villena, Fulgencio Cerdán, highlighted that "Villena is very well positioned in the technical reports of companies seeking logistics operators to operate on the peninsula and have direct access to Europe." He added that this intermediation aims to "promote future business, boost internationalization, and commercial cooperation between companies from Villena and China." Cerdán also noted that some local companies already operate in the Asian country, but this initiative seeks to expand the city's industrial presence in this inland region.
