The Chamber of Commerce of Alcoy and the Provincial Council of Alicante have presented two key initiatives to boost local commerce: the Commerce Awards and the '3,000 reasons' campaign, which includes a 3,000 euro prize draw.

Candidacies for the Commerce Awards, which will recognize innovation, trajectory, and support for local commerce, can now be submitted. The awards ceremony will take place on October 21st in Alcoy. Applications can be submitted online until October 4th.
During the Nit del Comerç (Commerce Night), the live draw for the ‘3,000 reasons’ campaign will also be held. To participate, customers must shop at participating businesses, get a card stamped at three different establishments, and deposit it in the designated collection boxes. Three shopping vouchers worth 500 euros each will be drawn, and the first 1,000 participants will receive an instant gift.
The campaign, running from September 20th to October 20th, aims to raise public awareness about the strategic value of neighborhood shops and encourage shopping within the municipality. Lucía Pascual, president of the Chamber of Commerce of Alcoy, has called on residents to “shop at our local businesses and value everything that local commerce contributes to the city.” Meanwhile, Carlos Pastor, deputy for Economic Development, has highlighted the Provincial Council of Alicante's commitment to traditional commerce.
The Provincial Council of Alicante is contributing 40,000 euros in 2026 for the ‘3,000 reasons’ campaign and future Consumer Vouchers managed by the Chamber of Commerce, an amount increased from the 35,000 euros in 2025.
