The imec.istart Spain team visited the PCUMH facilities to identify synergies between their companies and those in the program. imec.istart Spain is a leading European program for accelerating technology start-ups, fostering innovative companies through pre-seed funding, specialized mentoring, and access to an international network of investors and strategic partners.
During the meeting, Raquel Riera, imec.istart's acceleration manager, learned about the PCUMH's work methodology from Oleks Oprysnyk, Javier Sancho, Germán Sánchez, Carlos Fabra, and Alejandro Linde, technicians from the Science Park's Business Growth and Entrepreneurship Area.
Additionally, bilateral meetings were held with PCUMH start-ups Tarevé, BioBloodchip, Kilikia, and Valux. These encounters allowed the companies to present their technological developments and explore opportunities within the international program, which includes access to up to 250,000 euros in pre-seed funding and specialized support.
Tarevé manufactures particle boards from palm waste; BioBloodchip is developing an in vitro diagnostic device for early metastasis detection; Kilikia has created an early Parkinson's diagnostic kit using biological markers; and Valux Medical has developed a solution to significantly improve success rates in angioplasty interventions.
The PCUMH provides an ideal environment to channel university research initiatives and meet company needs, promoting University-Enterprise cooperation for the region's economic and social development.
