The reopening of El Bobo, which celebrates 60 years of history this year, represents the first establishment to complete its renovation among the historic restaurants of Malvarrosa. This project was executed using Casas inHAUS's industrialized construction system, as reported by the project managers.
The current owners, Vicent and Javier Arnal, sons of the founders Vicente and Regina, emphasized that El Bobo is "passion, hard work, and a lifelong dream on the beach, here in València." The restaurant began as an old snack bar on the sand, initially offering service only during the summer months, and over time grew to become one of the most recognizable on the promenade.
“"El Bobo is passion, hard work, and a lifelong dream on the beach, here in València."
Casas inHAUS was responsible for the construction of the building using its modular system, based on the architectural design by Jorge Quesada Estudio. The construction management was overseen by Jorge Quesada himself and technical architect Pedro Vicente López.
One of the main challenges of the project was to minimize the restaurant's downtime. The industrialized system allowed a large part of the new building to be manufactured in a factory while the old premises remained operational. After the demolition of the previous restaurant in October and the preparation of the foundations, the modules were transported and installed on the promenade in mid-December in a single day. Final connection and finishing works were completed by mid-March, approximately four and a half months from the start of work on the plot, significantly reducing execution times and impact on the area.
