The Local Government Board of Castelló has today approved the guidelines for the Bonos Castelló de la Plana 2026 campaign. The Confederation of Employers of Commerce, Services and Self-Employed of the Valencian Community (Confecomerç-CV) has been designated as the collaborating entity, and the collaboration agreement between the City Council and this commercial entity has been approved. This initiative has a budget of €800,000, allocated for its launch and execution, aiming to positively impact the shops and commercial establishments in the capital.
Confecomerç CV, a non-profit entity with extensive experience in commercial revitalization actions throughout the Valencian Community, has previously collaborated in this campaign. The mayor of Castelló highlighted that this new edition demonstrates the municipal government's commitment to a strategic sector, and emphasized that the amount allocated this year is the largest ever invested in such initiatives by the City Council.
The mayor stressed the importance of commerce for the daily life of Castelló, considering it a showcase for the city, key for job creation and economic revitalization. She assured that the City Council is supporting local commerce like never before.
For his part, the Councilor for Commerce and Consumption, Alberto Vidal, recalled other initiatives to support commerce, such as special campaigns for significant dates, street markets, and the launch of the Marketplace and smart lockers, which are proving very successful and contributing to the modernization of traditional commerce and online sales.
Vidal referred to the latest report on Retail Commercial Distribution in the Valencian Community, which indicates that commerce is evolving towards more specialized establishments, offering differentiated products and personalized service as added value compared to exclusively online commerce. The objective, he concluded, is for Castelló to remain an attractive place to start businesses, shop, and stroll, based on digitalization, specialization, and collaboration between the administration and merchants.
Additionally, the Local Government Board has approved the guidelines and call for the new Premios Castellón Emprende 2026 (Castellón Entrepreneur Awards 2026), endowed with €398,750. These awards will recognize the local business community with 40 accolades across six categories, celebrating the commitment to employment, entrepreneurship, and an innovative, sustainable, and inclusive local economy. Applications can be submitted until October 30th through the Electronic Headquarters of the Castelló City Council.
