The meat multinational Campofrío has launched the 'Amunt!' project, a 134 million euro investment to build a state-of-the-art industrial complex in Utiel, which will replace the Torrent factory, rendered unusable after the catastrophic DANA storm in 2024.

The new infrastructure, scheduled to be operational by mid-2027, will be located in the Nuevo Tollo Industrial Park. Covering an area of 44,000 square meters, this project not only aims to recover lost production capacity but also to establish Utiel as a technological benchmark in the European food industry.

"This project is a commitment to resilience."

The complex will integrate innovations that place it at the forefront of the sector, including energy sustainability with solar panels and an advanced system to transform industrial waste into biogas. Furthermore, its strategic location will facilitate direct connection with distribution centers and the auxiliary agri-food industry. The investment also secures the future of the 300 families whose jobs were jeopardized after the Torrent disaster.
Under the name 'Amunt!', the company aims to symbolize overcoming difficulties and stabilizing its activity in record time. The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by institutional representatives, including the President of the Generalitat, Juan Francisco Pérez Llorca, and a significant delegation from the Consell and the Diputación de Valencia.

"This day is a historic day for Utiel, and this industrial complex will be fundamental for generating local employment and retaining the population in the territory."

The Generalitat has emphasized that this implementation is a vital step for the economic recovery of the region after the DANA damages, insisting that the arrival of large industrial investments is the best social policy for the municipality and its surroundings.
