The subsidy, from the Department of Economic Development and Productive Sectors, aims to cover the current expenses related to the advisory and training activities for companies and entrepreneurs that the Chamber will conduct at its facilities. These expenses include personnel, IT equipment rental, utilities, communications, cleaning, and advertising.
The secretary of the Chamber of Commerce, José Adolfo Medina, highlighted the various initiatives to foster economic activity and improve the productivity and competitiveness of local businesses. Companies from any sector can establish themselves in the incubation spaces of the Business Incubator in Orihuela city or on Orihuela Costa (national road 332 km 42 in Cabo Roig). Medina emphasized the advantages of joining these networks, such as cost reduction through technological equipment, basic services, and training spaces, promoting collaboration and networking.
Medina also pointed out the personalized advisory sessions. For entrepreneurs, guidance is offered to define business ideas and available financing. For established companies, experts help analyze their situation and identify key aspects to improve profitability and competitiveness, including energy sustainability and business management. In the first half of the year, six new companies were created, and 47 in-person consultations were held, mainly concerning financing lines like Next Generation projects and Kit Digital aid.
The Chamber of Commerce also organizes informational workshops on aid for trade, industry, entrepreneurship, digitalization, business management, and Data Protection. So far, 67 entities have benefited from these workshops, with new calls planned.
Over the past six years, the Orihuela Chamber of Commerce, in collaboration with the Miguel Hernández University, has developed the 'Orihuela Emprende' initiative for entrepreneurship training. The most recent edition involved about twenty participants and twelve presented projects, with awards given last March. Since its inception, around a hundred business projects have been part of this initiative.
