Calp records the lowest unemployment rate in the last two decades

The municipality closes the month of June with 6.97% unemployment, the lowest figure since 2006.

The labor market in Calp has experienced a favorable evolution during the month of June 2026, placing the unemployment rate at 6.97%, the lowest level recorded in the last twenty years.

According to data provided by the State Public Employment Service, the municipality currently has 815 people registered as job seekers. This figure represents a significant improvement compared to the historical series started in 2006, when the rate stood at 8.48%.
Regarding hiring, during the month of June, 1,032 labor contracts were formalized in Calp, distributed evenly between 513 men and 519 women. The indefinite modality remains the most common, representing 81.1% for men and 72.8% for women.
The hospitality sector, specifically food and beverage services, continues to be the main driver of local employment, concentrating the highest volume of both new hires and job seekers. Conversely, sectors such as building construction have stood out for total stability in hiring, registering exclusively indefinite modalities during this period.
