The Aspe Town Council is joining the VALO-R3 project, driven by the Parc Científic of the University of Alicante, aiming to foster innovation and the growth of emerging companies towards European funding programs.

The Aspe council will be the only municipality integrated into this strategic program, set to run between 2025 and 2027. The initiative, part of the Valencian Government's Complementary Actions for Innovation Boost and Strengthening, focuses on supporting deep-tech startups and spinoffs in their European scaling process, particularly for accessing the EIC Accelerator program, key for disruptive technologies.
The project seeks to transform scientific knowledge and advanced technology into solutions with economic, social, and environmental impact. To achieve this, a collaborative network will be established among universities, technology centers, companies, research groups, startups, and public administrations.
From the Aspe Town Council, the importance of this participation for bringing innovative solutions to the municipality is highlighted. The Councilor for Innovation, Daniel Puerto, notes that joining VALO-R3 will "strengthen the connection between research, business, and administration," fostering projects in sustainable development, water management, and digital transformation aimed at citizen services, especially for the elderly.
The program will be structured into specialized groups focusing on strategic sectors, such as water usage optimization, waste valorization, and digitalization through artificial intelligence, big data, cybersecurity, 5G/6G, or artificial vision.
A primary objective of VALO-R3 is to reduce the so-called "technological death valley," facilitating the market entry of research advancements. Strategic alliances will also be promoted to accelerate the international commercialization of disruptive technologies.
With this accession, the Aspe Town Council reinforces its commitment to innovation and sustainability, aiming to position the municipality among the leading technological ecosystems in the Valencian Community and Europe.
