Agricultural associations ALIV and Alive have filed objections against the 'MSP 17 La Raya III' photovoltaic plant in Nules, warning of its destructive impact on fertile soil and traditional irrigation.

The associations ALIV (Valencian Independent Farmers Association) and Alive (Spanish Independent Primary Sector and Consumers Association) have submitted an extensive written objection against the 'MSP 17 La Raya III' photovoltaic plant, planned by Mediterranean Sun Power 17 S.L. in the municipality of Nules. The document states that the plant will occupy over 30,000 square meters of productive citrus land, with the organizations warning that the energy transition "cannot be done by destroying fertile soil," demanding a model compatible with food sovereignty and the protection of historical irrigation systems.
One of the main complaints in the objection is the alleged artificial fragmentation of the project. The associations claim that linked developers are fraudulently dividing a megaproject into seven independent photovoltaic plants along the Nules–La Vall d’Uixó axis to evade more rigorous state environmental controls.
Furthermore, a serious technical error has been detected in the Decommissioning Plan, which includes references to another unrelated facility called “MSP 14 COSCOLLOSA”. This fact, they denounce, highlights the alarming lack of technical rigor and the "copy-paste" approach in processing these licenses.
The objection report details several environmental and territorial impacts, including the destruction of hydraulic heritage and traditional irrigation networks, increased flood risk due to altered natural runoff, potential damage to the Marjal de Nules and Red Natura 2000, and the irreparable loss of traditional rural landscape.
Given this situation, ALIV and ALIVE have formally requested the retroaction or absolute nullity of the procedure. They demand an unfavorable environmental opinion due to incompatibility with agricultural heritage and that the Conselleria de Agricultura (Ministry of Agriculture) issue binding reports to halt the cumulative loss of productive land in the region.
