The province of Alicante once again plays a prominent role at Salón Gourmets 2026, the major international quality food fair held from April 13 to 16 at IFEMA Madrid.

At the inauguration of the event, the Minister of Agriculture, Water, Livestock, and Fisheries, Miguel Barrachina, highlighted the extensive regional representation. He stated that this presence reflects «the excellent health of the Valencian food sector and the exceptional quality of our products, which is amply demonstrated especially at events like this».
The regional official also emphasized «the firm commitment of the Consell to support the internationalization and business growth of our companies through participation in agri-food fairs, an initiative that is contributing to the sustainable evolution of one of the great economic drivers of the Valencian Community».
The Valencian Community participates in this 39th edition of the event with 104 companies, of which 68 are part of the institutional stand and another 36 attend individually. The fair brings together more than 2,000 exhibitors and over 50,000 selected products from around the world, and will also feature Valencian presence in the wine tunnel, where a dozen wineries will participate.
Following the success of the previous edition, the Conselleria is once again setting up a 610 square meter stand to host companies, associations, and cooperatives from various sectors. Among the entities present are the association of delicatessen companies from Alicante, Essentia Gourmet, along with the Regulatory Council of the Arroz DO Valencia Designation of Origin and Proava.
Within the Valencian offer, some products closely linked to Alicante will have significant weight, such as Turrón de Jijona y Alicante and DO Alicante wines, which gain prominence alongside other differentiated quality figures such as Arroz DO Valencia, wines from Valencia and Utiel-Requena, or organic products. The regional showcase will also include spices, honeys, truffles, olives, extra virgin olive oils, cheeses, liqueurs, sauces, dressings, snacks, seafood, smoked products, preserves, ice creams, jams, and sweets.
The Valencian Community stand will once again feature a showcooking area where chefs from the Tourism Centers of Dénia and Gandía will prepare rice dishes, fideuás, and other typical Valencian dishes during the four days of the event. In this culinary program, the Alicante Tourism Board will play a specific role, offering tastings of Alicante rice dishes and other tapas prepared by a prominent chef from the province. Alongside this proposal, there will also be two exhibitions by Castellón chefs Raúl Resino and Miguel Barrera, both with Michelin Stars.
Participating companies will also conduct wine and oil tastings and product samplings. The organization expects to exceed last year's figures, with more than 110,000 visitors and over 15,000 foreign buyers, as well as an expected business volume exceeding 250 million euros.
